Our Story

Chhaya Sakhi Foundation was initiated in 2022 when a group of friends came together with the intention of giving back to the society. They were inspired by the thought of financially atmanirbhar women at grassroots and social equality and environment for local and rural women entrepreneurs, Gruh-udyog and self-help groups (SHG).

What triggered this thought is to support and uplift rural and urban gruh- udyog and small scale women entrepreneurs who are trying to do the business from their home and villages. We are committed to empowering Gruh-dyog and SHG by guiding them to use online platforms to grow their businesses, improve their livelihoods, and contribute to the socio-economic development of their communities.

Fuelled with enthusiasm, Chhaya Sakhi founders gave a shape to their dream and Chhaya Sakhi Foundation was born. Over the last two years Chhaya Sakhi Foundation has evolved as a sustainable Indian social institution – committed to do real work on the ground, and make the society and businesses inclusive in the process of bringing the change.

On our way we had to make many difficult choices and constantly innovate by adopting a business-like approach and creating a unique resource modelling keeping businesses at the center or promoting the concept of society and technology driven change. We almost took the road less travelled and that has made all the difference.
